Truck Driver Injured in Shooting Near Nevada-California Border, Suspect at Large

Police are investigating a shooting incident that left a truck driver injured on Tuesday evening near the Nevada-California border.
The shooting occurred at 7:28 p.m. on February 25 at mile marker 4 on Highway 6, near Montgomery Pass, according to the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).
Authorities say the truck driver was outside his semi-truck, possibly inspecting a breakdown, when an unknown vehicle pulled up. Someone inside the vehicle fired approximately five rounds, striking both the truck and the driver.
According to a California Highway Patrol report, after being shot, the truck driver managed to walk to another parked semi for help. The suspect vehicle did a U-turn and briefly approached the two truckers before fleeing the scene.
The truck driver sustained a leg injury and was transported to a hospital in Bishop, California.
