64-Year-Old Man Killed in Thruway Crash Involving Tractor Trailer Near Albany

A fatal crash on the New York State Thruway near Exit 24 in Albany claimed the life of a 64-year-old man on Monday afternoon. The collision occurred around 12:11 p.m., just west of I-90’s interchange with the Northway, according to New York State Police.
The victim, identified as William Morrissey of Middleburgh, was pronounced dead at the scene after a tractor trailer collided with his SUV. The impact shut down the highway’s left lane for nearly five hours as investigators processed the scene.
According to NEWS10 Albany, the truck driver was uninjured and has been cooperating with authorities during the investigation.
Officials have confirmed that no criminal charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
