An overturned tractor trailer caused major disruptions on the Cross Bronx Expressway Thursday afternoon, leading to a full shutdown of all northbound lanes near Jerome Avenue just before 3:45 p.m., according to officials.
The incident happened during peak rush hour, forcing traffic to be diverted for several hours as FDNY crews and other emergency responders worked to remove the overturned truck.
According to News 12 The Bronx, one person was transported to the hospital, though their condition has not been released.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of the crash. All lanes were reopened later in the evening.
