A potential disaster was narrowly avoided Sunday in Siskiyou County, California, when a semi-truck was stopped by police after driving the wrong way on Interstate 5 near Yreka.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), dispatch received multiple 911 calls about a big rig that drove through the center median and continued northbound in the southbound lanes of I-5.
Fortunately, CHP officers were able to pull the truck over before any crash occurred.
Authorities confirmed that drugs and alcohol were not factors in the incident. The investigation into why the driver ended up going the wrong way is ongoing.
