Semi-Truck Crashes Through Fence, Nearly Hits Georgia Home After Police Chase

A police chase involving a semi-tractor ended dangerously close to tragedy on Tuesday morning in Cobb County, Georgia, when the truck plowed through a fence and stopped just inches from a home.
According to police, the incident began after multiple 911 calls reported a truck driving erratically on Ernest Barrett Parkway. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over, sparking a high-speed pursuit.
According to WSB-TV, the chase ended when the truck jumped a median, barreled through bushes, and crashed into a residential fence, stopping just feet away from the home’s AC units and the bedroom of the homeowner’s mother-in-law.
Witness Amber Hibbs said she feared for her life:
“He just kept weaving in and out of lanes... I thought he was going to hit us.”
The homeowner, Jim Boyland, was shocked when police alerted him that the truck cab was sitting in his backyard.
“Thank God no one was hurt,” he said. “No damage to our A/C units in 100-degree temperatures and no damage to our home.”
The driver was charged with reckless driving, though police have not confirmed whether drugs or alcohol were involved. Additional charges may still be filed as the investigation continues.
