Tractor-Trailer Hits Railroad Bridge on DC-295, Temporarily Shuts Down Lanes

Traffic came to a halt Wednesday afternoon on DC-295 in Northeast Washington, D.C., after a tractor-trailer struck a CSX railroad bridge near Benning Road, according to D.C. Fire and EMS.

The impact led to the temporary closure of all lanes in both directions, causing traffic delays in the area.
According to WJLA, no injuries were reported, and D.C. Department of Transportation crews responded to assess the structure.
Officials have not released details on damage to the bridge or whether the truck driver will face any citations. Lanes were later reopened following the incident.
