Semi-Truck Collides with Train in Union City, Four Injured

UNION CITY, Ga. — Four people were injured Wednesday afternoon when a semi-truck collided with a train, sparking a fire and leaving one person ejected from the truck, according to officials.
The crash occurred around 2:24 p.m. near Stonewall Tell Road and Westbrook Road, the South Fulton Police Department reported. Union City fire officials said the impact was so severe it caused part of the train to catch fire.
Two people in the semi-truck and two people on the train were injured in the collision. Officials confirmed three victims suffered serious injuries, and one person is in critical condition.
According to 11Alive, aerial footage from SkyTracker showed the semi’s cab separated from its trailer, which remained on the tracks in front of the train.
Emergency crews, including police and paramedics, responded to the scene. CSX is investigating the cause of the crash.
