A serious crash between a Freightliner semi truck and a Nissan Pathfinder SUV early Tuesday morning has left two individuals in critical condition and shut down part of Main Street in Palmer Township, Pennsylvania.

Collision and Response

The crash occurred around 5:10 a.m. on September 17th, along the Route 33 North exit ramp at Main Street. According to officials, the Pathfinder was carrying four occupants at the time of the collision.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where they had to extricate the driver and front-seat passenger of the SUV, both of whom suffered traumatic injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital and remain in critical condition. The two rear passengers were able to exit the vehicle on their own and were transported for medical evaluation as a precaution.

Impact and Road Closures

The driver of the semi truck was not injured in the crash. However, the incident caused major traffic delays during the morning commute as portions of Main Street remained closed while authorities cleared the scene and launched an investigation. The roadway has since been reopened to normal traffic flow.

Investigators have not released additional details regarding the cause of the crash or whether charges are being considered.
