Lumber spills across NJ Turnpike entrance ramp after tractor-trailer overturns in Edison

EDISON, N.J. — A tractor-trailer overturned Friday morning, spilling a large load of lumber onto Interstate 287 near the New Jersey Turnpike entrance ramp, causing major traffic delays, officials said.
The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. at the entry plaza for Exit 10, blocking lanes for drivers trying to merge onto the turnpike. Southbound traffic on I-287 backed up for more than a mile as crews worked to manage the debris.
Photos from the scene showed a pile of wood scattered across a grassy median near the ramp. At one point, vehicles were able to pass slowly along the shoulder, but by noon, all southbound lanes were closed to allow cleanup operations.
According to CBS News New York investigators have not yet determined what caused the truck to overturn, and no injuries have been reported, according to CBS New York.
