Three seriously injured, dog rescued after crash involving semi-truck in Salem

SALEM, Ore. — Three people were seriously injured and a dog was rescued after a semi-truck and a pickup truck with a camper collided late Monday night, according to the Salem Fire Department.
The crash happened around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway NE and Broadway Street NE. Firefighters said both drivers were trapped inside their vehicles and had to be freed using specialized rescue tools.
According to KPTV FOX 12, in total, three people were transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, officials said. Their current conditions were not immediately available as of Wednesday morning.
Firefighters also rescued a dog that had been trapped inside the pickup during the crash.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and the Salem Police Department has not yet released additional details, according to FOX 12 Oregon.
