Two semi-trucks crash after one jackknifes across I-215, blocking all lanes in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — A crash involving two semi-trucks briefly shut down all lanes of Interstate 215 early Thursday morning after one truck jackknifed on slick roads, according to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP).
The collision happened in the southbound lanes near the 700 North interchange, where troopers said one semi lost control due to wet road conditions and jackknifed across the freeway. A second truck tried to avoid the crash but collided with the trailer of the first semi, UHP Agent Tara Stump reported.
No injuries were reported, but the crash blocked all lanes for some time before crews cleared the roadway. The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) said I-215 reopened by 5:00 a.m.
Authorities urged drivers to slow down and use caution, with rainy conditions expected to continue across Utah highways throughout the morning, according to KUTV.
