Tractor-trailer hauling live chickens overturns near Diamond, Missouri
DIAMOND, Missouri — A tractor-trailer carrying live chickens overturned Monday night on Route V and Marten Road, prompting emergency response and temporary road closures.
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. when the semi turned northbound onto Marten Road and then eastbound onto Route V, causing it to roll over and block both lanes of traffic. Diamond Fire, Newton County deputies, and Newton County Ambulance crews responded to the scene, while the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified.
According to KOAM, the semi and trailer were later set upright with all the chickens remaining on board.
No injuries were reported, and authorities worked quickly to reopen the roadway after clearing the scene.
