Woman’s improper lane change caused crash that killed trucker, police say

Washington State Police have shared new information about a crash that claimed the life of a semi truck driver on Monday.
The crash occurred around noon on Monday near Southcenter, Washington.
Troopers say that 64 year old truck driver Steven Garner was southbound on I-5 at I-405 when the crash occurred.
According to police, a 49 year old woman was merging off of I-405 when she struck Garner’s truck.
The crash caused the semi truck to strike a guardrail and to crash down an embankment.
Garner died at the scene.
The motorist was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police say that improper lane change was the cause of the fatal crash.
