Driver rescued after pickup crashes into garbage truck in North Portland
PORTLAND, Ore. — A driver was taken to the hospital Friday morning after crashing a pickup truck into a garbage truck in North Portland, according to Portland Fire & Rescue.

The crash occurred on North Lombard Street near North Ida Avenue, according to KPTV. Crews arrived to find the pickup’s driver pinned beneath the steering wheel. Firefighters used power tools to cut through the dashboard and free the trapped driver.

The victim was transported to a hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not yet been released. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
