CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. — A tractor-trailer driver was freed and taken to the hospital Monday morning after his rig slammed into a building in Cabell County, causing part of the structure to collapse.

The crash happened at SMC Electrical Products near the intersection of Route 2 and the Big Ben Bowen Highway in Lesage. Officials said the semi, which was hauling pipe, lost control in heavy fog before crashing directly into the building.
