The crash occurred at approximately 7:08 p.m., when the KCFD ambulance had pulled over behind another vehicle in the northbound lanes while responding to a call. As the crew was positioned at the roadside, a tractor-trailer traveling northbound collided with the rear of the ambulance. The impact sent the semi across the median and into the southbound lanes of U.S. 169, prompting an immediate shutdown of the highway in both directions. KCFD reported that additional units, including a hazmat team, were dispatched to manage a significant fuel spill caused by the overturned truck.
