Indiana police say that a truck driver is facing charges after he reportedly threatened a truck stop worker with a gun because he believed the person stole items from him.

Twenty-eight year old Chicago-based truck driver Austin Miller has been charged with Felony Intimidation and possession of marijuana, according to the Vermillion County Sheriff.

Miller was arrested on Friday, August 27, for an incident that occurred at the One Nine Travel Plaza on SR 63 at I-74 in Vermillion County, Indiana.

Miller reportedly confronted an employee and accused the worker of stealing items from him from the shower room.

From a news release from the sheriff’s department detailing the incident:

Miller had went to the front of the store and when he returned the door was locked. The employee opened the door and Miller accused him of stealing his property. Miller allegedly pulled a firearm on that employee in the shower room. Miller went to the front of the store again and confronted more employees. Miller accused them of stealing his property and began threatening to shoot the store up. It was determined that Miller had went into the original room he was assigned to but he had switched due to no hot water. He located his property in the new shower room and went to his semi.

After this confrontation, Miller went back to his truck in the back lot. Police say that he initially refused to exit the truck, but after a few minutes surrendered without further incident.

When police arrived on scene, they found two air soft handguns and marijuana in Miller’s vehicle.

Miller was booked into the Vermillion County Jail and was later released on bond.
