Box Truck Driver Dies After Veering Off I-95 and Crashing Into Woodline in St. Johns County
ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — A deadly crash shut down portions of Interstate 95 South Tuesday after a box truck veered off the highway and crashed into the woodline near mile marker 314, just south of State Road 16.
Fire rescue crews arrived to find the truck heavily damaged with the driver critically entrapped. Multiple squad companies worked to free the victim, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

Hazmat teams were called in to contain a diesel fuel leak from the wrecked vehicle, and emergency personnel remain on-site completing cleanup operations. Significant traffic delays are expected along I-95 South, and motorists are urged to use caution and consider alternate routes.
The Florida Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the fatal crash, according to FHP.
