Troopers responded at 3:59 p.m. to the southbound lanes near Exit 4 in Mount Laurel Township, where investigators say a Peterbilt tractor-trailer moved onto the left shoulder to avoid slowing traffic. The driver reportedly lost control, sideswiping a Toyota SUV before jack-knifing across the roadway and striking nine additional vehicles, including a Lexus SUV, a GMC pickup truck, and several passenger cars.

A total of six people suffered minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. No serious injuries or fatalities were reported.

Emergency crews worked to clear wreckage and manage heavy traffic backups stretching through the afternoon commute as all affected lanes were temporarily shut down.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not yet released further details.
