One Person Killed in Semi-Truck Rollover That Shut Down Loop 303 Near Lake Pleasant Parkway
PEORIA, Arizona — A fatal rollover crash involving a semi-truck brought all southbound lanes of Loop 303 to a standstill early Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. near Lake Pleasant Parkway, where a commercial truck pulling a trailer overturned, coming to rest on its side and blocking the entire roadway. DPS confirmed that two people were inside the truck, and one person was killed in the rollover.
Drivers were forced to exit at 51st Avenue, causing major delays around the TSMC Arizona campus as crews worked cautiously to upright the truck without spilling its load. Officials have not yet disclosed what the semi was hauling.
By 11:20 a.m., ADOT announced the highway had fully reopened after nearly six hours of closure while investigators documented the scene and removed the wreckage.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
