SENECA, MISSOURI — A tractor-trailer rollover late Christmas night shut down Missouri 43 south of Seneca as responders worked an hours-long recovery involving a trailer loaded with approximately 30,000 pounds of coffee creamer.

At about 11:45 p.m. late Christmas night (Thursday), E-911 received reports of a tractor-trailer rollover on Missouri 43, just south of State Route U.

Seneca Fire, Seneca Police, and Newton County Ambulance responded to the scene. Seneca officials requested assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol to process the crash.

Authorities said the tractor-trailer was traveling north on Missouri 43 when it dropped tires off the right side of the roadway and overturned while trying to get back on the road.

Officials said the driver was not injured.

The trailer was loaded with about 30,000 pounds of coffee creamer, according to information learned on scene.

Missouri 43 was reported closed TFN as crews worked the scene, and officials said the recovery would be an hours-long process. Metro Towing was on scene and tasked with recovering the vehicle and the load.
