Tractor-Trailer Strikes Utility Pole on Cagle Mountain, Knocks Down Three-Phase Line and Triggers Extended Power Outage

CAGLE MOUNTAIN, TENNESSEE — A tractor-trailer struck a utility pole on Cagle Mountain Friday morning, bringing down a three-phase power line and causing a power outage for multiple residents on the mountain, according to Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative.

Sequatchie Valley Electric Cooperative said the impact damaged poles and electrical infrastructure, and crews were dispatched to assess the damage and begin planning the repairs. The cooperative said crews are preparing to replace and repair the poles needed to restore service.

Because of the severity of the damage to the three-phase line and pole system, the cooperative warned that customers should expect an extended outage while repairs are completed.
