78-Year-Old Pedestrian Walking Against Signal Is Hit by Tractor-Trailer at Pleasant and High Streets in Morgantown
MORGANTOWN, WEST VIRGINIA — A 78-year-old man was struck by a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning in downtown Morgantown and was transported to the hospital, according to information shared by the city and the Morgantown Police Department.
Officials said the crash happened at approximately 8:26 a.m. at the intersection of Pleasant and High streets. The city reported the pedestrian was walking against the traffic signals when he was struck.
Morgantown Police said the truck driver briefly rendered aid before officers, Morgantown Fire Department crews and Monongalia EMS arrived on scene.
The pedestrian was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, officials said.
No charges have been filed, and the incident remains under investigation.
