DALLAS, TEXAS — All westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near downtown Dallas were shut down Sunday morning after an 18-wheeler crashed and spilled pallets, oil, and honey buns across the roadway, according to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office and TxDOT.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded around 6 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, to a crash in the westbound lanes of I-30 near I-345. Investigators said an 18-wheeler hit a wall, and part of the trailer fell to the ground below.

Officials said the roadway was blocked by spilled pallets, oil, and honey buns, prompting a full closure of the westbound lanes. The sheriff’s office said only the shoulder was allowing limited traffic to get by.

Authorities said the driver was in stable condition.

TxDOT said the closure was expected to last until approximately 11 a.m. Sunday, and warned the shutdown would impact westbound traffic between I-35E and I-45, with drivers urged to use detours to avoid the area.
