CHP Says January I-10 Truck Enforcement Nets 277 Violations, 75 Speeders, 76 Lane Offenders and Multiple Out-of-Service Orders

SAN GORGONIO PASS / COACHELLA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA — The California Highway Patrol released results from a month-long enforcement operation targeting commercial truck safety on Interstate 10 between the San Gorgonio Pass and the Coachella Valley.

CHP’s San Gorgonio Pass Division said the detail ran throughout January, emphasizing that while most professional drivers operate safely, unsafe commercial vehicle operation can have severe consequences.

Enforcement results (January detail on I-10)

  • Vehicle inspections: 42

  • Vehicles placed out-of-service: 4

  • Drivers placed out-of-service: 8

  • Speeding violations: 75

  • Out-of-lane violations: 76

  • Total violations cited: 277

  • Total citations issued: 205

Agencies involved

CHP said participating units included the San Gorgonio Pass Area, Indio Area, Desert Hills CVEF, and Border Division Commercial units.
