LOGAN COUNTY, Ohio — A truck driver was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly refusing to cooperate with a commercial vehicle inspection at the westbound US 33 rest area.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m., deputies with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist an officer from the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. The officer reported that the driver was yelling and refusing to allow the inspection to be completed.

Authorities identified the driver as Anthony Vanderbilt, 59, of Richton Park, Illinois.

According to deputies, when they attempted to speak with Vanderbilt, he continued arguing and delaying the inspection process. After being warned that continued refusal could result in arrest, Vanderbilt was taken into custody for obstructing official business.

He was handcuffed, searched, and transported to the Logan County Jail. His personal belongings were secured and logged upon arrival at the facility.

No injuries were reported.
