PORT HURON, MICHIGAN — Canadian border agents intercepted more than 240 pounds of cocaine inside a commercial truck crossing from Michigan into Canada at the Blue Water Bridge on February 19, 2026, resulting in the arrest of two men on drug trafficking charges.

A commercial truck traveling from Michigan was flagged for a secondary examination by Canada Border Services Agency officers at the Blue Water Bridge, which connects Port Huron, Michigan to Sarnia, Ontario. During the inspection of the trailer, officers discovered 111.4 kilograms of suspected cocaine concealed inside.

The two men in the truck were arrested: Sarkaren Vir Singh, 29, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Chamkaur Singh, 25, of Belleville, Ontario. Both have been charged with importation of cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

Michael Prosia, Regional Director General of CBSA's Southern Ontario Region, called the seizure significant. "This significant cocaine seizure highlights the critical role the CBSA plays in disrupting the flow of illegal drugs into Canada and keeping our communities safe. The vigilance and dedication of border services officers in Southern Ontario is protecting and securing our border," Prosia said.

The CBSA noted that border services officers in Southern Ontario have seized a total of 3,842 pounds of cocaine coming from the United States since January 1, 2025.

The Blue Water Bridge is one of three bridges in Michigan that currently connects to Canada. The International Bridge connects the sister cities of Sault Ste. Marie, and the Ambassador Bridge in Detroit connects to Windsor, Ontario. A fourth crossing, the Gordie Howe International Bridge, is expected to open in Detroit later this year.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
