BERLIN, CONNECTICUT — Berlin firefighters quickly contained a truck cab fire at a gas station on the Berlin Turnpike Monday afternoon, preventing the flames from reaching the fuel pump and averting what could have been a much more dangerous situation.

The Berlin Volunteer Fire Department dispatched Engines 8 and 7 along with Squad 4 to the Pit Stop gas station and convenience store after a vehicle caught fire next to a fuel pump. Crews contained the blaze to the truck, keeping it from spreading to the pump or other areas of the property.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
