BUCKEYE, ARIZONA — A dump truck driver was killed Thursday morning after a tire failure caused the truck to roll over on the eastbound Interstate 10 off-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail in Buckeye, spilling its load of sand at the scene.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said the crash occurred at approximately 5:30 a.m. on June 25. Preliminary information indicates the dump truck experienced a tire blowout, causing the driver to lose control before the truck overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.

The eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Jackrabbit Trail was closed during the morning rush hour while DPS investigated.
