Sparks fly after sleepy motorist runs trucker off road

A semi truck ended up overturned across a highway in Virginia after a run-in with a potentially sleepy motorist.

The accident was filmed in Springfield, Virginia on southbound Interstate 95.

In the clip, a white SUV can be seen slowly drifting into the path of an oncoming truck hauling a Costco trailer. The SUV then knocks into the semi truck and sends it skidding onto the shoulder, where it throws up sparks before veering back across the highway. The rig then overturns across multiple lanes of traffic and throws up more sparks before coming to a rest against the concrete barrier wall.

“I believe the white SUV driver must’ve fallen asleep and slowly started merging until it got hit by Costco 18 wheeler truck,” wrote the video poster.
