Two truck drivers ran into trouble and temporarily blocked both lanes of a bridge on Monday.
The Port of Hood River reported the incident at 1 p.m. on the Hood-River White Salmon Interstate bridge (also known as the Hood River Bridge) on Monday.
Authorities said that two trucks “wrecked” on the bridge, blocking traffic in both lanes.
The bridge reopened shortly before 2 p.m.
According to the Port of Hood River, the Hood River Bridge was built in 1924, rebuilt in 1938, and has narrow lanes measuring 9 feet, 4 inches. The bridge connects Hood River, Oregon with White Salmon and Bingen in Washington State.
Wide loads are not permitted without making special arrangements with authorities. Pilot vehicles and flaggers are required.
