A truck driver has been jailed on $100,000 bond after a fatal crash involving a van stopped on a highway.

The accident happened on Monday, April 18th on Interstate 10 near McCarty in Houston, Texas.

According to ABC 13 News, a motorist in a Chevy Tahoe was traveling on I-10 when it encountered a van stopped on the freeway. The Tahoe then tried to get around the van, but struck a Kenworth semi truck in the process. A Peterbilt semi truck driven by 31-year-old Pablo Isai Frias then crashed into the Tahoe, killing the female driver. No other serious injuries were reported.

Police determined that Frias was intoxicated at the scene, so he was arrested. Frias appeared in probable cause court on Wednesday morning, April 20th, where he was charged with intoxication manslaughter. He is currently being held on $100,000 bond, reported Fox 26 Houston.

If released, Frias will be unable to drive without permission from the court, and his vehicle must be fitted with an alcohol detection device.

No other citations have been issued as a result of the crash.
