Truck driver survives fiery collision with building in Washington

A truck driver suffered only minor injuries during a crash into a building on Sunday morning.

 

The crash occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on June 19 on State Route 20 near Coupeville, Washington.

According to Washington State Police (WSP), a semi truck traveling on SR 20 near mile maker 26 “appeared to have rolled onto its side, and caught fire, ultimately catching the building on fire as well.”

 

WSP said that the Penn Cove Pottery building was unoccupied at the time of the crash.

Troopers said that the truck driver suffered only minor injuries.

 

All lanes reopened around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.

The crash remains under investigation.
