High-speed chase ends in fatal collision with tractor trailer

A pickup truck driver is dead after crashing into a parked semi truck while fleeing police in North Carolina on Sunday evening.
The incident occurred on April 18th just before 6 p.m. in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
According to WITN News, officers were pursuing Donnie Butts Jr. for outstanding warrants when he fled in his pickup.
Butts collided with a police cruiser before leading a second officer on a chase, during which Butts lost control, ran off the road, and struck the parked semi truck. The Highway Patrol reports that Butts collided with the rig at 85 mph, killing him on scene.
No other injuries were reported.
