Several videos have surfaced featuring a semi truck as it appears to encounter trouble with a crowd of people celebrating the verdict in the Derek Chauvin trial on Tuesday afternoon.

On the afternoon of April 20, former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty of second degree murder, third degree murder, and manslaughter related to the high-profile death of George Floyd last year.

Large crowds gathered in Minneapolis to hear the verdict and to celebrate Chauvin’s conviction.

Several videos appeared on social media featuring a 10 Roads Express truck with what appears to be a female driver and a group of protesters in the street.

In the video below, you can see the truck approaching a group of people in the street while the driver honks the horn as if to clear the roadway to make a left-hand turn. The crowd quickly turns on the truck and people began climbing on the vehicle and striking the truck with fists. A person who climbed on the truck falls off as the driver put the truck in reverse. The driver is eventually able to escape from the crowd and drives away as a few people chase the truck down the street.

It isn’t clear whether anyone was injured.

The video below provides another angle of the incident.

A 10 Roads Express representative told Newsweek that the company had addressed the incident with the driver.

Following George Floyd’s death and the civil unrest that has occurred in its wake, multiple truck drivers have run into trouble with highway protesters.

On May 31, 2020, Bogdan Vechirko’s truck encountered protesters on the Interstate 35 west Bridge in Minneapolis. When the truck came to a stop, protesters began beating him and his wallet and phone were stolen from his truck. He was charged in October 2020 with a felony count of threats of violence and a gross misdemeanor count of criminal vehicular operation.
