A semi truck stopped traffic in Washington on Tuesday morning after colliding with the Green River Bridge in Auburn.

The accident happened on March 19th in Auburn, Washington on Eastbound Highway 18 at the Green River Bridge at around 5:40 a.m.

According to Seattle Times, the tractor trailer was hauling bottled water when it struck a part of the bridge structure and overturned, blocking both lanes of the road.

“I am extremely surprised that nobody one was hurt or dead,” motorist Jonathan Lowry said to King 5 News. “We are doing about 60 then all of a sudden you see a bunch of dust coming in the air. Then you see the truck flip back up and just flop over on the bridge and block both lanes.”

The roadway was shut down until about 7 p.m. as crews worked to clean up the diesel spilled on the roadway and evaluate damage done to the bridge. No further information about the incident has been released.
