Tractor-Trailer Overturns on I-287 in Harrison, Injuring Two

HARRISON, N.Y. — Two people were seriously injured Monday, October 6, following a crash involving a tractor-trailer that overturned on Interstate 287 westbound between exits 8 and 9A, just west of the I-684 interchange.
According to New York State Police, the incident occurred around 2 p.m. when 64-year-old Adelmo Gudiel-Herrera of New Jersey was driving a tractor-trailer southbound on the ramp from I-684A onto I-287. He reportedly lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn and crash into an SUV traveling westbound on I-287.
Both Gudiel-Herrera and the SUV driver sustained injuries and were transported to Westchester Medical Center. Authorities confirmed that both are in stable condition with no life-threatening injuries.
Gudiel-Herrera was cited for several violations, including unreasonable speed and unsafe lane change.
Traffic in the area was severely affected, with all lanes closed for approximately four hours as crews conducted investigation and cleanup. By 6:45 p.m., traffic had resumed normal flow.
However, delays continued later in the day due to an unrelated crash on the eastbound side of I-287 before Exit 5.
