LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. — A truck driver from Texas was arrested after allegedly chasing and attacking another truck driver with a wooden bat along Interstate 78 in Lebanon County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The violent encounter happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday near mile marker 4.2 on I-78 West in Bethel Township. Troopers arriving on scene found a 55-year-old female truck driver from San Antonio, Texas, covered in blood inside her cab.

Investigators say Reginald A. Warner, 47, of Humble, Texas, followed the victim for about five miles, then cut her off and forced her to stop in the left travel lane. He accused her of hitting his truck, then climbed onto her cab and punched her several times in the face through the window.

The victim grabbed a wooden tire bat to defend herself, hitting Warner in the arms and face, but he took the bat and allegedly struck her in the head six to seven times, police said. During the assault, her truck rolled forward and hit the back of Warner’s trailer.

Troopers say Warner later admitted to chasing the woman, confronting her twice, hitting her, and taking her truck keys. The victim suffered multiple injuries, including a laceration to her eyelid and the back of her head that required stitches. EMS personnel said she may have sustained a fractured skull.

Warner was arrested and taken to PSP Jonestown, then booked into the Lebanon County Jail on charges of aggravated assault, robbery, and reckless endangerment, among others. He remains held on $100,000 bail.
