Suspect fleeing police crashes into semi-truck, causing the rig to roll over in Oklahoma
WAYNE, Okla. — A police pursuit in central Oklahoma ended Wednesday morning when the fleeing suspect crashed into a semi-truck on Interstate 35, causing the rig to roll and seriously injuring the truck driver.
The incident began around 8:19 a.m. when the Oklahoma Highway Patrol dispatch was notified that the District 21 Task Force was pursuing a vehicle northbound on I-35 near the 78-mile marker. Before troopers could join the chase, the suspect’s vehicle crashed.
Around the 83-mile marker, just south of the Wayne/Payne exit, the suspect’s vehicle slammed into a semi-truck, causing the truck to overturn, according to OHP. After the impact, the suspect fled on foot.

Troopers, along with OHP’s airplane, searched the area and were able to locate and apprehend the suspect a short time later.

The semi-truck driver was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and is expected to survive. Troopers are continuing to investigate the collision.
