Overturned Tractor-Trailer Slides Down Embankment, Shutting Down Northbound I-75
RINGGOLD, GEORGIA — A rollover crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer slowed traffic Saturday morning on northbound Interstate 75 near Ringgold, with backups extending onto Highway 41 as first responders temporarily shut down the freeway to clear the scene.
The crash happened on I-75 northbound near the 345 mile marker. Catoosa County firefighters responded at approximately 8:12 a.m. and treated minor injuries at the scene, according to a county government Facebook post.
A photo shared by officials showed the tractor-trailer overturned and partway down an embankment on the right side of the roadway. No passenger vehicle was visible in the image.
First responders temporarily closed the interstate while crews worked to remove wreckage and reopen lanes to traffic.
The investigation remains ongoing.
