LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY — A busy downtown Louisville interstate ramp was temporarily shut down Tuesday after a semi hauling an oversized load became stuck in a sharp curve on the connector to Interstate 64 East, according to Louisville emergency officials.

Officials issued a LENSAlert traffic advisory just after 11:30 a.m. for the ramp from Roy Wilkins Avenue to I-64 East, saying a truck carrying an oversized load had become lodged in the turn.

The ramp reopened around 1:45 p.m. after workers slowly inched the semi up the ramp and onto the interstate, officials said.

TRIMARC cameras showed what appeared to be a mobile home or partial construction structure on the ramp above the parking lot behind the Frazier History Museum, according to the report.

The elevated ramp is heavily used by downtown commuters and is known for requiring quick acceleration to merge into fast-moving I-64 traffic.
