Semi-Truck Runs Off I-55 Near Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and Ends Up in Tree Line as Driver Reports Minor Injuries

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MISSOURI — Crews responded Monday after a semi-truck left the roadway on Interstate 55 near the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport and came to rest in a tree line, according to officials.
The crash happened around noon Monday, Jan. 19, near the 90.5 mile marker on I-55. Authorities said the semi traveled off the road into the trees at the northeast corner of the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.
Officials said the roadway was not blocked. Crews on scene reported the driver sustained apparent minor injuries.
