Missing 77-Year-Old Michigan Milk Truck Driver Found Safe at Motel After Employer Reports Missed Delivery
SAGINAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN — A milk tanker driver reported missing by his employer was located safe Friday evening after he failed to arrive at a scheduled delivery in mid-Michigan, according to the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said it was contacted the morning of Friday, Feb. 13, 2026, by Rathmourne Dairy of Port Hope, which reported that its driver — Gordon P. Wolschleger, 77 — along with his truck and milk tank trailer, was missing.

Investigators said Wolschleger left his home in the Harbor Beach/Parisville area late Thursday, Feb. 12, and traveled to the Port Hope dairy. He later departed with a load of milk headed to a milk plant in the St. Johns area. He was expected to arrive around 2 a.m. Friday, but never made it.
Wolschleger was located around 7 p.m. Friday at a motel in Buena Vista Township, officials said. His truck — described as a purple 2015 Kenworth pulling an eight-axle milk tank trailer — was found separately at a motel in the Flint area, more than 30 miles south of where he was located.

In an updated release issued Saturday, Feb. 14, Sheriff Kelly J. Hanson said the incident appears to have been voluntary, with no indication Wolschleger was held against his will or victimized.
However, officials noted it was reported that some of Wolschleger’s judgment and actions may have been influenced by PTSD-related effects stemming from his prior military service.
Family members and company representatives responded Friday to pick up Wolschleger and retrieve the truck, authorities said.
The circumstances remain under investigation by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office and Buena Vista Township law enforcement, with assistance during the incident from the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and the Buena Vista Police Department. Family members reported they were not aware of any health issues or other circumstances that may have contributed to his temporary disappearance.
