PENSACOLA, Fla. — A tractor-trailer hauling a load of oranges from California was stopped at a Florida agricultural inspection station, where officers discovered 671 pounds of cannabis hidden among the cargo, authorities said.

According to the Florida Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement, the seizure occurred on February 16, 2026, at the Pensacola Agriculture Inspection Station during a routine regulatory inspection.

Officers reported that while inspecting the semi-truck carrying oranges from Visalia, California, they detected the odor of cannabis coming from the trailer. A search of the load uncovered 17 duffle bags and five trash bags concealed among the pallets of oranges.

Field testing confirmed the presence of THC, with the total weight of the seized cannabis amounting to 671 pounds, officials said.

The truck driver, identified as Roberto I. Feria, was arrested and charged with felony drug trafficking.

Authorities said the seized narcotics were turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
