Maine State Police (MSP) say that a truck driver was arrested on Wednesday after reports of erratic driving led to the discovery of an alcohol violation.

MSP reports that at approximately 2:15 p.m. on June 15, two concerned citizens placed calls to 911 regarding a “a tractor trailer unit driving erratically and almost striking other vehicles as it was unable to maintain proper lane while traveling on I-95 northbound in Sidney.”

An MSP trooper was able to locate the truck and witnessed the driver operating erratically within a few minutes of receiving the calls.

The trooper performed a traffic stop on the truck.

An MSP commercial vehicle unit responded to the scene and searched the truck for evidence of alcohol use.

Following the investigation, the Ohio-based truck driver was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence “as his blood-alcohol concentration was four times the legal limit of .04% while operating a commercial vehicle.”

The truck driver was transported to the Kennebec County Jail. The tractor trailer was safety removed from I-95.
