Driver Charged With DWI After Tractor Trailer Carrying Blackberries Overturns on I-95

A tractor trailer hauling blackberries overturned early Wednesday morning on northbound I-95 in Johnston County, North Carolina, resulting in an extended road closure and criminal charges for the driver.
The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m. near Exit 107, when the truck struck a guardrail and flipped, spilling its load across the highway. The vehicle was being operated by Sumit Singh of New York, who was the sole occupant.
According to WRAL, Singh suffered minor injuries and was taken to Smithfield Hospital for treatment.
Authorities have since charged Singh with driving while impaired (DWI), as well as reckless driving and failure to maintain lane control.
The cleanup operation lasted about eight hours, during which time the roadway remained closed to traffic in the affected area.
