$1000 Reward Offered as Yuma Police Try to Identify Semi That Hit Fire Hydrant and Took Off

YUMA, ARIZONA — Police are asking the public for help identifying a semi-truck and driver involved in a hit-and-run after the truck reportedly struck a fire hydrant and fled the scene earlier this month.

The Yuma Police Department said the incident occurred on Jan. 15, 2026, when the semi-truck pictured in a police alert collided with a fire hydrant in a dirt lot across from the Chevron located at 2092 E. 24th Street.

Authorities said the truck left the scene after the crash. The case is listed as 26-3837.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is urged to contact the Yuma Police Department at (928) 783-4421. Tipsters who want to remain anonymous can call 78-Crime at (928) 782-7463. Police said information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
